3 sigma MBS (Minimum Breaking Strength) is the method of calculating minimum breaking strength by taking the mean result of five test samples less three standard deviations. This provides a 99.87% certainty that any given rope will meet or exceed the reported MBS.
- 5/16" UL Classified to NFPA1983:2001 Standards for Escape Rope (13.5 kN).
- 3/8" & 7/16" UL Classified to NFPA1983:2001 Standards for Light Use Life Safety Rope (20 kN).
- 1/2" & 5/8" UL Classified to NFPA1983:2001 Standards for General Use Life Safety Rope (40 kN).
Compliance to the above specifications is based upon testing according to the Cordage Institute Standard CI-1801 as performed by Underwriters Laboratories.

KM III

KM III ropes are NFPA approved and meet or exceed CE standards.

KM III is the original static rope to utilize a UV resistant polyester sheath balanced with a nylon core to provide its user with a multitude of benefits. It absorbs less moisture, has lower stretch, and is more abrasion resistant than an all nylon rope. Its unique hand allows for easier knot tying, better knot holding, and helps to defuse sharp edge forces.

KM III is exceptional for rappelling, caving, rescue, and life safety applications.
